I wish I knew then what I know now. I would teach my children to dream about places not “happily forever afters”. I would not let them watch TV, go to movies or read gossip tabloids. I would lose the guilt of a clean house, take them to a different park each weekend and teach them to fall in love with nature instead of letting them be indoctrinated into false perceptions of soulmates equating happiness. Humans are flawed, myself included. I know the phrase is cliche but it’s the dead honest truth, only you can make YOU happy. And when you realize your happy place, your very own “happily forever after” then and only then is it possible to have a beautiful relationship with another beautiful soul. And if that other soul never finds you, you still have your own happiness. I enjoy my time alone. I am never bored and never run out of things to dream about.
