Letting go of a job you’ve invested yourself in, maybe even found part of your identity in, carries an amount of sadness with its ending. Even if a new exciting endeavor, presenting a promise of better things to come, awaits. Changes equate to unknowns. Unknowns pose potential unforeseen challenges. Change can be scary, make us feel unsure, apprehensive, and throws us off balance. Am I really up for the challenge? We trade familiarity and routine for newness and irregularity. We leave behind those who have come to know us well and with whom we’ve shared a part of our life’s journey. We have good intentions to keep them in our lives but know relationships wont ever be the same. We carry the special connections in our hearts and in the form of memories. Our shared times become a part of each one of us and a small part of the whole we are to become on our journeys. Goodbyes are sad. The knowledge that things don’t last forever is sad; however, memories become an unforgotten part of us as we forge forward, accept challenges and create new memories that shape us into unique beings.

.... keep in mind, as sad as the departure from your present job is, the nice colleagues and patients, there is a reason for moving on. You are not taking a step backwards or down. Treasure the nice memories and look forward to new challenges and deserving rewards. Depart in good spirits and a mission proudly accomplished, no regrets.
