I’ve learned letting go is difficult and even hurtful, especially letting go of people. I’m getting better at knowing when. Sometimes people don’t want you to let go but they can’t give you what you need. Unfortunately, it becomes a no-win situation and time to move on. I think with romantic relationships when the interactions with someone don’t feel good anymore and you are never a priority that’s a good indicator for letting go. When I finally do let go I am able to accept what is and able to move on. I have found immeasurable peace in acceptance.
BITTER SWEET LESSON
(Learning to let go)
Bitter sweet is the lesson of letting go
Clinging too long to just mere dreams
Holding on too long to forged hopes
Tast the bitterness of sweet memories
The hardest lesson is letting go
painful struggles, greatest challenge
Yet thru suffering arises inner growth
Bitter sweet is journey’s awakening
The inability to let go leads to stagnation
Along with ignorance and condemnation
So prepare to accept great loss for growth
As memory’s bitter sweetness lingers on
THE LOTUS
Roots anchored strongly and deep
In dark depths of muddy waters
Stems grow upwards towards light
Passing through its murky habitat
Afloat above the darkness below
The lotus opens its beautiful petals
Greeting the sun’s light and warmth
So too is the soul anchored deeply
Suffering selfish material darkness
Resilient the soul grows with wisdom
Passing through social challenges
Growing with strength and knowledge
Reaching up towards enlightenment
The soul opens and its beauty shines
