with wings expanded
as you gracefully landed
on the garden’s olive tree branch

as you sang
beautiful melodies of hope
until love deeply touched my heart

you swooped down close
onto the open window’s ledge

upon closer view
your feathers were tattered
slightly worn from years gone by
yet you sang
the most beautiful
of places filled with love
peacefulness as never imagined
i tried
to stand very still
focused on hope’s song
but loudly chores called me back
with a squawk
your wings expanded
you flew away and left me behind
with only dreams of a special place

Found a girl open through her blue eyes
Ran our boat ashore as the sun shone on my tarnished heart.
Heaven guided her down upon wings of glistening white
Don't know what she is maybe simply a dream
But its the way it was always meant to be
A translucent smile speaks words of love until now had been foreign to me
Sand beneath my feet, her star shines above the sea
Her glimmering light vanishes away
Distant memories expand further each moment with this bright stars heart beat
So this is love, its full naked embrace
The golden clouds weren't supposed to move mountains but silver rains poured down from above and offered us to meet

....always feels good when opening my mail box and finding a "life's grape juice" waiting for me. We do not have cardinals in Germany, but every morning we get greeted with cheerful notes of a pair of "Amsel" in the big Walnut tree near our bedroom...... from now on, I will be thinking of your cardinal and its message😘
