*Ukiyo [Poem]

Updated: Jan 29, 2021

*(n.) living in the moment, detached from the bothers of life, "the floating world"

how we played in the waves and laughed till it hurt

our feet touched hell's fire but you build us a home

deep in the cool earth with shells spit out by the sea

sand flowed through your hands like endless time

the salt on our skin from the depths of all beginnings

like our souls, I was part of you, you were part of me

we danced naked under the stars in the moonlight

we kissed under the sky in the warm spring rain

we drank in the scents of our intertwined limbs

we fell to sleep embraced in each other's arms

your heart was part of mine, mine part of yours
